Tonight was about getting R.E.A.L. that is Realistic Expectations and Attitude for Life. Through H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Eat), Allison Kreiger has launched the Get R.E.A.L. program in which a dvd has been created as a marketing tool in the school system. It is being shipped out and watched at 7000 schools!!! Amazing! The dvd focuses on a 16 yr girls struggle with anorexia. It then continues on with professionals in the mental health industry so the viewer can better understand the disease. Turns out 42% of people with eating disorders are in 3d-6th grade...I found this absolutely startling! Eating disorders do not discriminate; They effect all races, genders, and ages.
