Open House in Orlando

Lifestyle Family Fitness in Lake Mary hosted our first Open House for the 2009/2010 pageant season. It was 2 hours of fun and entertainment as we had presentations by Pageant Ready, La Casa Hermosa and Exquisite Coaching by Kim and Arnold as well as raffles throughout the day. Every person took home a raffle prize and one lucky contestnt received a free entry into a local USA pageant.

Our next open house will take place on Sept 13th at Tel-Air in Hollywood. You definitely do not want to miss it....I will see you there :)

Miss America's Outstanding Teen Pageant

Saturday August 15th marked the 5th Annual Miss America's Outstanding Teen Pageant held in Orlando, Florida. The show began at 7pm and by 10pm the new Miss America's Outstanding Teen was announced! Congratulations to Jeanette Morelan who was representing Wisconsin!

I am proud to announce that our Miss Florida's Outstanding Teen, Myrrhanda Jones did a phenomenal job placing 2nd runner up. The crowd loved her talent (She twirled Baton to 'I've Got Rythem'), and she had a great onstage interview. She is the second MFOT to make it into the Top 5 (joining Sierra Minot who was 3d runner up in 2005). Congratulations Myrrhanda!

Above is a picture of myself, Rachel Strever and Kristilee Ginther. I had the pleasure of emceeing the local pagaent they won a few months prior to tonight. Rachel was my first Sunshine Princess back when I was Miss South Florida Fair 2005 and now she is the first Sunshine Princess from the Class of '05 to begin competing at the Miss Florida's Outstanding Teen Pageant. I am mucho proud of her :)

It’s an inside look at the lives of professional athletes when they’re not in uniform and the game clock stops!" Aubrey Aquino is the creator and host of On The Flipside. She’s originally from the Bay Area and turns out she is my new Miami neighbor!

Aubrey literally walked from her place to mine for a quick interview. If you were to meet Aubrey, you would first think, "WOW, she is GORGEOUS!!!" then you would say, "Gosh, she is so talented!" Aubrey was the director, producer, interviewer, and camerawoman of this interview. She was very interested to know about my background as an Orlando Magic Dancer and what it was like to win the title of Miss Florida USA 2010. The interview has not aired yet, I will definitely let you all know when it does!

On Tuesday August 4th, I had an interview with Leanna Kozlowski from the Miami Herald. She was so sweet. After playing phone tag for quite some time, we finally spoke around 11pm that night after I was done assisting with the 2010 Orlando Magic Dancer Pre-Audition Class. We spoke for about an hour and covered all aspects of my life. Leanna is writing a profile story on me to go in the Neighbers section of the Sunday paper. The final draft is below:

WPBF 25 ABC

Today was my first ever Mother/Daughter Appearance. Before this morning, my mom had yet to join me on any appearance as a titleholder. With my parents in Jupiter and me previously representing cities outside of Palm Beach County, the opportunity never presented itself. Well.... today my mom went all out! We arrived at WPBF 25 ABC (in Palm Beach Gardens) at 5:30am for 6am and 8am interviews. Since my mom is the cutest thing ever, she had a batch of freshly made brownies and pumpkin muffins for the crew! Let's just say that before I ever opened my mouth, we were already invited back for another interview...lol

Bob Kaple is the weekend anchor and interviewed me during the 6am and 8am hours. Both interviews went great, and Bob was so much fun! If you have not noticed from the pictures, he is definitely wearing imitation Crocs called Holey Soles!!!! They were hystercal! I told him if I knew people would not see my feet, I would be in my flip flops or slippers all day everyday...lol

Welcome Home Troops!

The article below pretty much sums it up. Sgt Mark Bell did a great job taking myself and 2 of my good friends, Magic Dancers Kelly and Erin, throughout the Radisson Hotel in Orlando to meet everyone who attended the Yellow Ribbon Workshop in Orlando. The event is held once a month by the 81st Regional Support Command to reintegrate soldiers back into society after fighting for our country. The families that I had the privilege to speak with have returned from Iraq and Afghanistan. I spent the majority of the time with kids of all ages discussing anything and everything you can think of. With the babies I learned that 'E' is for Elmo and 'D' is for Drum and with the big kids we talked about sports, TV shows, and girlie stuff.

It was a wonderful feeling to be able to personally thank the men, women, and families who go overseas to keep us safe here in the states. I have had the honor to entertain our troops on several occasions in various countries and it always amazes me how appreciative visits like today can mean to a soldier. It was an honor to be invited to this event and once again THANK YOU to everyone who serves our country!
